YOUR WEEKEND GETAWAY TO BRISBANE – PART 2 (TRAVEL ITINERARY)

Brisbane has become a cultural hub for those interested in dining, travel, entertainment and shopping precincts. Don’t be fooled, the rooftop bar scene rivals that of Melbourne (and that’s a lot coming from a Melbournite!). Here’s the easiest schedule you might want to follow if you happen to book a trip to Brisbane for the weekend (P.S. a flight from Sydney to Brisbane on a Friday starts at $109!)

6:00pm ROOFTOP DRINKS

It’s a bit early in the night to have dinner, and you’re too pumped up to go back to the hotel. So (obviously) that means a cheeky drink on a rooftop. Eleven Rooftop Bar on Ann Street is perched above Brisbane offering 270 degree views of Fortitude Valley, the CBD and surrounding suburbs. If you don’t know much about Brisbane, what you will know is that locals love the outdoors. This lifestyle lends itself perfectly to the outdoor/rooftop entertainment scene. As a Melbournite, this is something that could rival even our best rooftop bars. Seriously cosmopolitan.

Yes to all of this.

8:00pm TIME TO EAT

A good time is a LONgTime – the new restaurant in Brisbane, pioneering obscure alleyway dining. Hidden away in a laneway, this restaurant brings Australia’s best chefs (including a sous chef previously cooking for the Thai Royal Family) and gives you Thai-fusion like you have never had before. Punchy and powerful, the lemongrass and chilli will have you dreaming of your next international getaway. Your little piece of paradise in the heart of Brissy.

10:00pm THE NIGHT DOESN’T END WITH DINNER

Once you’re adequately full, it’s time to get uncomfortably exhausted – I mean, you’re on holiday! It’s 48 hours that you won’t get back (unless you return – which is highly recommended)

Brisbane is buzzing with nightlife, so make sure you visit some of the best spots. In the mood for a boozy blues bar or another excellent rooftop club, Brisbane has you covered. Make sure you take the time to enjoy it.

Brisbane have me like.
