The Arbory Bar & Eatery has officially opened marking a new era of dining on the banks of the Yarra. The urban renewal to the Sandridge Line and Yarra River precinct just on the banks of the Yarra River is now home to a unique new venue that lines 150 metres of the riverbank on a long elevated and open deck.
The deck features a series of unique spaces for events, casual eating and drinks along with sit down dining. There are eight custom made umbrellas that enclose the space, equipping it for Melbourne’s ever changing weather, and all furniture has either been custom made in Melbourne or sourced through local furniture designers, including Jardan, who have provided dining chairs to the space.
Open everyday from 7.30am till late with a large-scale license, Arbory Bar & Eatery plays on Melbourne’s love affair with outdoor entertainment precincts: whether you want a quick coffee and breakfast before work, a business lunch, lazy afternoon drinks, pre-drinks before a show or sporting match, or a casual dinner with friends, it is the perfect spot for everyone.
Guests at the opening launch party were able to sample some of the dishes from the menu that features a range of casual dining options including sandwiches, burgers, small plates to share or larger plates for a substantial meal (think steak, pasta with prawns & clams). The menu by Executive Chef Nick Bennett (Trocadero, Cecconi’s) and chef Michael Fox (2012 Young Chef of the Year) is complemented by a specially curated wine list and extensive list of quality beers and ciders.
Arbory Bar & Eatery’s arrival to the city brings back life into the previously disused section of Flinders Walk, connecting the Southbank with the Northbank, and helping with the revitalisation of Flinders Street Station.
