UNIQLO has announced its latest collaboration collection with global fashion icon Ines de la Fressange. In keeping with a motif of “Luxurious clothes,
and beyond,” the new range of wardrobe essentials brings together Ines’ belief in designing clothes that all women can wear with comfort to reveal their beauty and the LifeWear philosophy of providing innovative, high-quality clothing that meets the needs of daily lifestyles.
The inspiration for the new collection is Deauville. Parisians flock to this refined seaside resort in northwestern France in summer. French fashion designer Coco Chanel chose this locale for her first fashion boutique in 1913 and the town was a fashion center in the early 20th century. Deauville is a place of special memories for Ines. She holidayed there when very young with her grandmother, encountering high fashion for the first time. The immemorable sight of elegantly dressed women on the beach and in social venues instilled in her the meaning of sophistication. This has informed the new collection’s graceful wardrobe essentials for the season, which embrace the following three styling concepts.
Day Trip
Inspired by quick outings to Deauville, items range from linen-cotton set-ups and pointelle knits to scarves, belts, and bags that serve as styling accents. UV-blocking hats are included for the first time.
Effortless
Denim coveralls are soft, light, and comfortable for an effortlessly stylish look. The line also includes an array of linen and cotton shirts for relaxed fits and silhouettes.
Marine
Parisians love marine styling in spring and summer and the new collection accordingly offers a variety of navy-hued items, from dresses to coats. Signature borders are available with 3D Knit items.
The full lineup of 45 items in the 21SS collection will be available from Thursday, 12 August at UNIQLO’s Emporium, Chadstone, Mid City, Queen St and Murray St stores and through uniqlo.com/au with selected items available at all other stores.
