“Eyebrows frame the face”… we’ve all heard it many times before, however how many of us have actually sought advice from a professional brow expert? Well, I can say that I have now, taking some time to test out the Benefit BrowBar at Myer.
The Benefit BrowBar specialises in a range of signature brow services that will turn any of the messiest brows into pure perfection. Benefit have been shaping, waxing, and defining brows since 1976, so I knew I was in good hands.
On this visit to the Benefit BrowBar, I sought the help of one of the specially trained experts as to what treatment my brows needed. Jess, my Benefit BrowBar expert, assessed the length and angle of my existing brows and suggested an eyebrow tint and the popular Brow Arch Wax. Having never had an eyebrow tint before, Jess explained that eyebrow tinting accentuates any fine, less visible hairs to make eyebrows appear thicker but not unnatural. The tint is custom blended to suit your hair and skin colour which is reassuring that the tint wouldn’t make my brows look unnatural! After applying the tint, Jess then proceeded to wax and shape my eyebrows. The resulting shape and colour of my eyebrows were fantastic.
Jess then introduced a number of Benefit products that would enhance my new signature eyebrows. Firstly, The POREfessional was applied to my entire face including over the eyelids and under the eyebrows to minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines. This product was silky and lightweight and Jess explained that it can be used either as a primer before makeup is applied or over makeup to create a flawless look.
Watt’s up highlighter was applied under my brows and eyes to brighten the eye and brow area and provide a healthy and luminous glow. It was easy to apply with a make up brush or fingers due to its cream to powder finish. Gimme Brows was applied next to build up the brows and set them. The product is a fiber gel that adheres to skin and hair and its brush makes it simple to apply and build up as necessary. Finally, Jess applied fakeup as an under eye concealer to complete the perfect look. This concealer is unique as it is contained within a tube of Vitamin E and apple seed extract enabling the product to not only glide on smoothly but also to hydrate the under eye area to eliminate that ‘cakey’ look.
