Does your makeup bag need an update? We review the latest products from Maybelline.
Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation
Now, this was my first venture into the latest trend of ultra-light fluid foundation and although I was initially unsure, I’ve been super impressed for many reasons. Maybelline’s Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation really is a dream – a dream to apply and a dream to wear. It offers a light to medium coverage and it’s buildable without looking heavy. The unique tear shaped, applicator-wand controls the amount of product which I dispense on the back of my hand – with only a few drops, I’m left with a flawless, ‘better-than-my-skin’ finish. When applied with fingers, the liquid pigment blends quickly and seamlessly into my skin, almost mimicking the smooth texture of my morning facial serum. It currently comes in eight different shades, the compact glass bottle feels sturdy and fits nicely into my makeup bag. I usually set with a light dusting of powder and staying power is good, lasting throughout my working day.
Face Studio Master Glaze Blush stick
It’s difficult not to fall in love with Maybelline’s new Face Studio Master Glaze Blush sticks. At first glance, they seemed like any other blush sticks on the market – small and conveniently packaged, however these creamy sticks have easily become my go-to daily blushes. I’ve never mastered the art of applying cream blush well, but these are pretty much fool-proof and therefore a true joy to use. Infused with shea butter, the formula itself is soft and creamy enough to glide onto my cheeks evenly but not too creamy that it slips. As it dries down quickly on the skin, it’s effortlessly blendable with fingertips or a small face brush. My favourite feature of this product is the ‘glaze’ or dewy glow that’s left behind making my cheeks pop ever-so-subtly, almost like a built-in highlighter. I’ve had the pleasure of trying all four shades and they’re all nicely pigmented and wearable…. Just-Pinched Pink would be my tip as a ‘must-try’.
Maybelline New York is available at leading supermarkets and Priceline.
