PUCCI

Brigitte Bardot was a significant influence on Pucci’s runways, with models bearing a striking resemblance to the blonde bombshell.  Makeup artist, Lisa Butler, was inspired by the ‘swinging 60’s’ and wanted to emulate a fresh, pretty, London-chic girl.  In this sense, makeup was all about big sexy eyes using heavy black flicked eyeliner and lashings of mascara.

Skin was flawless and matte, with slight contouring to accentuate the cheekbones. Lips were also kept natural looking with a nude-pink tone. Hair was styled as sexy bed-hair with a full, heavy fringe for a “perfect rock-chic” look.

DOLCE & GABBANA

Opulence oozed off the runways as Dolce & Gabbana took us back to an era of Italian monarchy.  Makeup artist Pat McGrath channelled old Hollywood glamour to deliver regal, sophisticated models. Skin had a luminous glow, and eyes had a sweep of black liquid eyeliner, slightly winged outwards. Lips were painted a deep berry shade to perfectly complement the jewels in the gold crowns. The look was refined and beautiful, and best of all proved to work for all skin tones.

PRADA

The girls at Prada were reminiscent of pretty, fresh mermaids with the ‘wet hair’ look.  Artist Pat McGrath applied mascara and then smudged it under the eyes with a wet wipe, leaving only the remnants. He used the same technique with a berry lipstick on the lips for a wine-stained look.  The result was cool, relaxed and ‘beachy’ look.

VERSACE

Natural sun-kissed beauty has never looked better than on the runways of Versace. Skin glowed with peachy cheeks and lips while hair was worn down and textured for a punk edge. Makeup highlighted the eyes with smoky eye shadow and light application of mascara.

BOTTEGA VENETA

1920s flapper girl glamour was in style at Bottega Veneta. Hair was va-va-voom big: think Carrie Bradshaw-seventies meets forties curls. Skin was radiant with a luminous base and contoured cheekbones. Fuller eyebrows are proving to be seriously in style as they were once again seen on this runway. Finally, lips were painted a deep claret, a  classy and sophisticated autumn shade.

The Italian runways were once again a sophisticated, glamorous, beautiful affair with numerous beauty looks to emulate this season!
