Art meets Fashion with Wittner shoes releasing a limited edition collection. Inspired by the four seasons, in celebration of their partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria for Melbourne Winter Masterpieces 2017: Van Gogh and the Seasons (MWM17), the aptly titled ‘The Art Of Style,’ the collection consists of four shoe styles; wearable art that are an exploration of textures and colours, emulating nature from Spring blooms through to Winter’s withering.
Drawing on the brand’s core strengths of quality materials and considered design, the Wittner product designers have poured hours into conceptualising beautifully curated features, such as weaving, richly coloured leathers, and crafted details. The shoe collection boasts over four thousand hand-made leather flowers, just one of the many features to adorn the luxe range. The collection will launch in early May, in selected stores on a very limited release.
Wittner Product Manager, Louise Patrick comments, ‘One of the most incredible parts of designing this collection has been drawing the inspiration from nature, and trying to express that through wearable art styles,’
‘As Van Gogh acknowledged consistently throughout his life and works, nature provides diverse colour palettes, shapes and textures which really stretch and challenge the mind when it comes to design.
We’re really proud of this unique collection, and can’t wait to release it to our customers.’ In sponsoring NGV’s MWM17: Van Gogh and the Season, Wittner have seized the opportunity to collaborate with Australia’s oldest and most visited gallery. The sponsorship represents a fusion of their own rich brand history and roots in considered, quality fashion, with NGV’s unrivalled authority in Art, art history and design.
The NGV’s MWM 17: Van Gogh and the Seasons exhibition invites viewers to contemplate Van Gogh’s life and experiences through his observations of the seasonal changes within the natural world. The exhibition runs now until July 9th, 2017.
