Crisp whites, coordinated sets, cobalts and chambray, and accents of tans and neutrals – this is Target’s vision for this SS14.15. Taking over the MSFW Hub, the fresh, breezy take on the season was an exercise in casual cool, and to up the fashion factor, the ever stylish Rachael Finch took to the runway to show off the major trends from the department store giant.
Completely on trend was the coordinating sets, with individually styled looks showing how the look can translate on any age. Crisp shirting against linen is perfect for the office, while the boxy tee and circle skirt calls for casual Sunday cocktails.
Accent blue hues also was a big trend on the runway – showing how a little bit of colour can lift a look. Try this at home with a lightweight scarf or subtlely accented accessories for effortless spring style.
Showing that women aren’t the only ones to add a pop of colour to their spring wardrobe was the coloured chinos and chambray shirts for the men. The bold colour stood out on the runway, and was perfectly styled with tan boat shoes and accessories.
Prints on brights also stood out as a major trend of the season. Hot pinks against monochromatic prints dominated, with print on print clashes adding a little extra edge.
Worried about what to wear for spring racing? Target has you covered. For the ladies, soft chiffons with watercolour prints in muted colours are the trends du jour, and for the men, coloured coordinates with bow ties will get you in first place.
The overall take away from the show? Style doesn’t always come with the most expensive price tag. If you want to inject a little spring style to your wardrobe without breaking the budget, the Target SS14.15 collection is in stores now.
