It feels like winter has been with us for a really long time and even though we’ve seen rays of sunshine, the cold winds, rain and cold temperatures have meant our tresses are a bit worse for wear. For some of us our hair frizz is out of control! So what can we do to help to tame and smooth our hair? We chatted with internationally-renowned hairstylist Kevin Murphy of the eponymous KEVIN.MURPHY range, and Co-Creative Director of ELEVEN Australia, Joey Scandizzo about what we can do to control our hair and ensure that we have the best hair going into Spring!
“To protect your hair from winter frizz you need to use products that are anti-humectants, this means they repel the moisture in the air and leave your hair staying smooth” says Kevin Murphy.
Murphy suggests using, KEVIN.MURPHY SMOOTH.AGAIN which is a leave-in smoothing treatment to eliminate frizz for silky, more touchable hair. The product also contains styling properties that will not only smooth out hair but it also has treatment ingredients that will help eliminate frizz with added heat protection.
He added that “it helps to blow dry product in and always over dry it, just when you think your hair is dry, keep drying it to make sure there are no damp areas as these will be the first to frizz up!”
Joey Scandizzo has some equally useful tips. He suggests that before getting out of the shower, “rinse your hair with cold water instead of warm water. This will help close the hair cuticle and seal the hair to keep it healthier, shinier and less prone to frizz“.
