All eyes were on Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie as she returned home for Emirates Stakes Day. Media and VIPs started their day with a Multivitamin Shot in the Swisse Marquee- a welcome (and much needed) boost of energy on the last major race meet of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Swisse Australia’s guest of honour, Margot Robbie, joined us dressed in Ellery and greeted by her former Neighbours cast mates. Looking slightly emotional post-reunion, Margot settled in to the marquee looking at ease amongst the Birdcage crowd.
Racegoers flocked to the air-conditioned comfort of the luxe Emirates Marquee, refuelling on a menu of German meatballs and salted caramel dipped doughy pretzels. European designers seemed to be the order of the day in the German themed marquee, with Neighbours star Olympia Valance looked well at home decked out in Yves Saint Laurent and Prada and Lindy Klim dazzling in Dolce & Gabbana- with her beautiful family in tow.
The Johnnie Walker Marquee lived up to its unofficial title of the “party tent”, with Erin Maxwell, model Elyse Knowles and Wonderland star Anna Bamford visibly enjoying the most relaxed day of the Spring Carnival- all dressed in bohemian white lace.
Guests in the ‘Find Wonderful’ themed Myer Marquee combatted the heat with delicate paper fans and refreshing cucumber cocktails. Lauren Phillips looked fresh despite an early morning opening Myer Bourke Street’s annual Christmas windows, while fellow Myer ambassadors Laura Dundovic and Kate Peck shone in heavily embellished pieces by Alex Perry and Aurelio Costarella respectively. The perfect place to end and celebrate a week well spent, the walls of Myer’s “House of Wonderful” were pulled back to, once again, reveal an endless supply of “edible happiness”.
Another Flemington Melbourne Cup Carnival done and dusted- until next time!
