The Royal Croquet Club is set to kick off another summer season bringing food, art and music to Birrarung Marr, Melbourne for it’s third year running.
The 16-day festival will run from Thursday 8th December, creating the perfect garden party setting with a specially curated food offering, free big-name music acts and of course, croquet pitches for all to have a swing.
Musical delights are guaranteed with headline acts including Dope Lemon (Angus Stone), Jarryd James, Hayden James, Aston Shuffle, KLP and returning favourite Touch Sensitive ensuring the party goes well into the night. Indigenous act from South Australia Electric Fields (who are performing nationally across all Royal Croquet Club festivals) will take center stage on opening night. More music acts are still to be announced.
Croquet goers will not go hungry with some of Melbourne’s most loved restaurants setting up onsite including POW Kitchen, 8bit., Hoy Pinoy, Up In Smoke and cult favourite Gelato Messina. Each restaurant ensures to bring favourite dishes to the ground – POW Kitchen’s mochiko fried chicken wings and handmade pork & prawn dumplings, 8bit’s infamous burgers and sliders and Hoy Pinoy’s pork belly skewers with banana ketchup glaze. Gelato Messina will bring back their soup tins for those in need of a sweet fix.
A Pimms Garden and true waterfront dining will provide the perfect cool down after a few rounds of croquet.
This year the Royal Croquet Club welcomes The Parlour – a 70-seater pop up theater delivering acts from the Adelaide Fringe Festival. The performances, which will be announced over the coming weeks, are promised to showcase unique and creative acts for all to come and see.
