With outward distractions and increasing reliance on technology in our daily lives, now more than ever it’s important to learn to switch off and get back to basics. The philosophy of mindfulness is one held close to Dr Richard Chambers and DJ Ray Good, and now they’re bringing Melbournians a chance to try it themselves with the opening of recharge, the first pop up mindfulness studio in Melbourne.
Located in a sleek, light-filled warehouse space in Fitzroy, recharge is a mindfulness pop-up studio that encourages people to take their eyes off their screens, leave their stress at the door, pull up a cushion and learn how to recharge. Designed for busy people intrigued by talk of meditation and mindfulness, the studio is people who want to learn proven strategies for stress reduction, and seeks to demystify meditation and mindfulness, making it simple to integrate into everyday life.
The concept is one that both founders strongly believe in, with both coming to find mindfulness through their careers – Richard through his years as a a doctor of clinical psychology and an internationally-recognised mindfulness expert, and Ray during a two-decade career as a globe-trotting DJ, inspireing club and festival goers to celebrate the moment through music and dance, and as personally practicing positivity and clarity through mindfulness and meditation.
If you want to learn how to unplug and reconnect, recharge is a 4 Week Meditation and Mindfulness Course held every Thursday night (7pm – 8.30pm) from November 17th through December 8th. For more information, visit rechargemeditation.com.au.
