Pie Society has already mastered the perfect pie, and now they are taking on the pastie world with the launch of their Cheese & Onion Party Pasties, which are packed with caramelised onion and a delicious blend of three cheeses. These snap-frozen delights are the perfect solution for a quick and easy meal with the family or a snack to share with friends while watching the footy. Even better, they’re vegetarian – meaning that it’s bound to be a crowd pleaser for all and it’s great for a meat-free Monday meal or for our flexitarian and vegetarian friends.

HAWTHORN HOTEL OPENS NEW ROOFTOP AREA
The Hawthorn Hotel on Burwood Road is unveiling a new rooftop area, offering 160 square meters of outdoor space designed for up to 150 guests. This addition features a variety of seating options, festoon lighting, and beer garden games like giant Jenga and Connect 4. Renowned Melbourne mural artist Damien Arena has created vibrant murals depicting local landmarks to enhance the ambiance. The rooftop also boasts a large LED screen for sports enthusiasts to follow live games.
To mark the opening, the Hawthorn Hotel is hosting a special edition of Melbourne’s original student night, Tightarse Tuesdays, on August 6, featuring performances from Teddy Cream and other acts, along with various drink specials. The celebration continues with a Locals Weekend from August 9-11, including live music, sports screenings, and food and drink giveaways. The pub will remain a lively venue for pub classics and live music, with regular events planned throughout the week including Live Music Fridays – Anthem sessions showcasing a fresh weekly lineup of local talent and the best up-and-coming bands and Live Music Saturdays – Acoustics and Partys bands where local acoustic artists will welcome in every Saturday afternoon followed by a brand-new weekly night of music, Party Bands, which will see themed nights and crowd favourites taking over the pubs ground floor speakers.

CANNOLERIA OPENS FLAGSHIP STORE IN CARLTON
Cannoleria has opened their flagship store in Carlton! The first Cannoleria store to have indoor seating, the Carlton location is all about savouring the Italian experience, enjoying life slowly with coffee and a cannolo. Open Wednesday to Sunday and seating 18 guests, the relaxed space boasts a neutral palette decor with accents of blue and furniture from So Watt, using recycled materials. Cannoleria Carlton is located on Lygon Street, the heart of Italian culture, and is satisfying tastebuds by serving up one of Melbourne’s favourite cannoli with their signature crunchy cannoli shells of delicate pastry filled with delicious ricotta filling, with locally sourced, seasonal and natural produce with no artificial flavourings or preservatives. Each day there will be five flavours to choose from – Traditional Sicilian, Chocolate, Tiramisu, Citrus and the ever innovative rotating flavour of the week.
Melburnians and visitors are invited to take a seat and savour delectable coffee alongside their cannoli. In traditional Italian style, Moka Pot St Remio coffee is on the menu, available as minimum 2 servings for $5.50 per person, including a mini cannoli – so customers can be taken to Sicily, if only for a moment. Plus, there will be other hot drinks available alongside cold San Pellegrino options.
