Ferguson Plarre’s Bakehouse has launched a new line of delicious savoury pies, created in collaboration with beloved celebrity chef Darren Purchese. The initial offerings in this new range are the Slow Cooked Beef Cheek and Shiraz pie, and the Cauliflower, Leek and Maffra Cheddar pie. Both varieties showcase local ingredients, with the Beef Cheek pie featuring the rich, aromatic qualities of Fowles Farm to Table Shiraz wine, and the Cauliflower pie incorporating the smooth and salty finish of Maffra Cheddar.
Darren Purchese, a renowned Melbourne chef, author, and TV personality, emphasized that these pies aim to provide premium, comforting flavours that are perfect for winter. Purchese expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “There is nothing us Aussies love more than a good pie, and these newest releases I’ve created with the team at Ferguson Plarre are no exception.” He highlighted the harmonious blend of the beef cheek and Shiraz, noting the wine’s tannins and spice, and praised the Cauliflower pie for its rich, dairy-infused taste.
