We sat down with Emily to get the lowdown on all things hair and extension related!
How long does my hair need to be for hair extensions?
To achieve a beautifully discreet and seamless blend, it’s ideal that the natural hair is – at least – touching the collarbone. At Emilly Hadrill Hair & Extensions (EHHE) we advise our clients to grow their natural hair to this length before application to ensure a flawless finish, every time.
Why should someone think of getting hair extensions?
There are a number benefits that come with hair extension application that almost anyone can get on board with – it’s certainly not just about length! Ladies who want to enhance volume and thickness, add shine and gloss to their hair, or even disguise damage and hair loss can achieve this by opting for extensions. It doesn’t have to be a permanent investment either, Remy clip-ins are perfect when it comes to a glamorous night out or special occasion.
What makes EHHE the place to go for hair extensions?
It’s in our name. Here at EHHE we’re experts in all things hair extensions, specialising in product selection, application, maintenance and of course customer service – and we make a commitment to each and every client that they will leave the salon chair shining with
confidence.
We use 100% Remy, double-drawn extensions supplied by J’adore. Put simply, this type of extensio n guarantees the quality is exceptional and the results achieved are unmatched. I wear these extensions and so do my staff, which I believe is the strongest testament of all,as we genuinely believe in the product.
What are your top tips for hair care (extensions and natural hair)?
To keep our hair shining and healthy, it’s all about meticulous maintenance with the help of salon quality products. With extensions in particular, this is essential, because the strands don’t receive natural nutrients from the scalp like our own hair does, and so they need that extra hydration and replenishment after every-day exposure to wind, water and heat.
Moisture
Replacing moisture each day is essential for longer-lasting, healthier hair. Applying an Argan oil to the mids and ends of your hair before bed each night will do wonders. At EHHE we recommend J’adore’s Argan Oil, it’s rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, which makes it ideal for hydrating extensions and natural hair.
Mask Treatments
At least once a week apply an intensive mask to your hair. Again, it’s about providing your natural hair and extensions with nutrients. L’Oreal Professional’s Mythic Oil Mask Treatment is a miracle worker – just leave it in for 5-10 minutes, brush through with a wide tooth comb and wash for glossy, silky results.
Heat Styling
Heat styling plays a huge part in extensions retaining their gorgeous appearance and keeping them untangled, smooth and glossy. But, it is so important to use a protect spray or cream, and professional tools with adjustable heat dials, to ensure you aren’t causing
damage to the hair. For our clients, we use J’adore Protect and Condition Spray and Cloud Nine tools.
What are some of the no no’s people should keep in mind when they’re looking for extensions and when they have extensions?
It’s the same story you’ve heard again and again – you get the quality you pay for. Don’t opt for the lowest price tag, look for reputable salons that use 100% Remy human-hair. It may be more of an investment, but the beautifully blended, natural results speak for
themselves… trust us, it’s worth it!
When you have extensions, it’s also important to avoid supermarket products that contain protein, keratin, suplhates and high alcohol contents – these can damage the extensions, sometimes beyond repair. Use only the products recommended to you by your salon
specialist.
For ladies who are contemplating extensions, we offer complimentary, no obligation consultation appointments to answer all of their questions and queries.
