Some of the most beautiful Mercedes-Benz cars from the brand’s iconic history will be displayed at Mercedes me store Melbourne in a one-off, week-long vehicle exhibition, during this week, some very high quality car covers will be used to protect these emblematic vehicles.
This event is called Mercedes me X Stars & Cars. Over many decades, kings, chancellors and presidents, popes and movie stars, as well as personalities from the worlds of sports and show business, have embraced the famous three-pointed star of Mercedes-Benz.
The Stars & Cars exhibition pays homage to the vehicles, and the stars who chose them. A roll call of famous owners and celebrities who’ve shared famous moments with the brand over many decades includes Frank Sinatra, Kate Moss, Nelson Mandela, Bruce Lee, Freddie Mercury, Audrey Hepburn, Roger Federer, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Grace Kelly, John Lennon, Sophia Loren and Michael Jackson.

Six of the most recognisable and glamorous Mercedes-Benz vehicles ever made will be displayed during the exhibition, which takes place at Mercedes me store Melbourne now until 1 December. These include a Bing Crosby-owned 300 S Cabriolet, an iconic 1956 300 SL ‘Gullwing’, and a 600 Landaulet of the type famously used by Pope Paul VI, and Queen Elizabeth II during her state visit to Germany in 1965.

To celebrate the Stars & Cars exhibition, hospitality partner ST ALi has created two delicious bespoke menu items which will be available for purchase at Mercedes me throughout the week: the ‘Good Morning Grace Kelly’ – an elder blossom kombucha mimosa with mandarin and grenadine (alcohol free), and ‘Sophia’s Seduction’ – a Tasmanian Leatherwood honey and soy panna cotta with honeycomb and summer berries inspired the elegance of Sophia Loren.
In addition, Mercedes me has commissioned Melbourne street artist Adnate to create a one- of-a-kind artwork on the windows of the adjacent Rialto building during Stars & Cars. Guests will be able to watch Adnate work live throughout the week, or view the completed piece in the weeks following the exhibition.
