Pachamama – SS13/14
At the end of the day the women scattered blossoms on the fields and the oldest man led the group in prayer. Blessing the tools, the seed, the earth and the children. This spirit of place this sense of life as community manifests itself in ways that are both exquisite and profound. – Nilda Callamampa Alvarez
For her latest collection, Camilla Franks took inspiration from Mother Nature, or as the Incas called her, Pachamama. As a lover of travel, Franks drew from her experience of re-connecting with the land she experienced around the globe.
The runway was held offsite in a beautiful, green clearing, which was littered with teepees. Model and daughter of rock royalty, Georgia May Jagger took to the runway for Camilla in what was a big coup for the label.
When speaking about the collection, Franks said “This collection is born directly from my personal journey as I reconnect with Mother Nature, or as the Incas called her Pachamama. As the year grew so did my awareness of how other cultures connect to this great artist. There has been much time camping with Sundays kissing me awake and the setting sun inviting me to dream. I feel that there is a movement taking us back to Mother Nature, back to where we belong.”
Franks’ trademark vibrant prints in relaxed and flowing silhouettes provide a range of colourful options for Spring/Summer. The collection will be available across a range of categories including womenswear, children’s wear, menswear, loungewear, homewears and accessories.
