Shapeshifter SS13/14
Opening day 2 of MBFWA, Ginger & Smart presented a beautiful collection of luxe separates and tailored dresses in bold graphic prints, bright cobalt blue, hot pink and what Ginger & Smart term ‘almost colours’ like ‘not-quite black’ and ‘not-quite white.’
Accessories were a standout. Classic box bags and clutches with rose gold sides and textured rubber bases will be a must have piece for this Spring/Summer. Platform heels were multi-coloured and made from a mix of scaly and buttery leather, tailored in styles complimentary to the tailored designs.
Inspired by the idea of morphing patterns, shapes and silhouettes. The sports luxe vibe was evident in the use of mesh inserts, panelling and long, lean shapes. Organza and woven jacquard added a interesting textures to the garments.
This collection stayed true to the Ginger & Smart aesthetic, while presenting some interesting new design concepts for the sisters which are sure to be popular with shoppers this Spring/Summer.
