Inspired by the erotically charged images of Amazonian women by photographer Helmut Newton, Carl Kapp’s Spring/Summer 2012/13 collection entitled ‘Collision’ was a stunning display of the tailoring Kapp has become known for.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo inspired hair offered an interesting juxtaposition to the minimalist, feminine designs of his garments. Eyebrows were bold and strong and eyes were smoky.

Stand out pieces were the stunning dresses which billowed behind each model like parachutes, celebrating the fluidity of the beautiful silks. Acrylic headpieces looked like crumpled pieces of metal.

Key colours were deep marigold yellows, poppy reds and gelato shades of milky green and mandarin. Focusing on texture, Kapp paired Italian woven black and white wool and cotton crepes with strong colours, reminiscent of the era of the supermodel.

Suits are sharp and modern, perfect for the strong women of today, looking for something which will make them feel powerful and confident.
