Maybelline New York is winning us over, yet again with the launch of three new products that you will love.
Introducing Maybelline New York SuperStay Better Skin Foundation ($21.95) which is a fantastic new formulation foundation that not only wears beautifully and gives your skin a gorgeous and flawless finish, but it contains ingredients that IMPROVE your skin health as you wear it. The main ingredients that will work towards better skin is the Actyl-C which is a Vitamin C derivative, and we all know that Vitamin C is fantastic for skin brightness, regeneration and smoothness. This foundation also includes Vitamin B5, Magnesium, Zinc and Copper which is an extremely energising combo of goodies which will help to hydrate, plump-up and promote healthier, younger skin whilst you wear it.
This long-wear foundation has a natural finish which gives a beautiful healthy glow but is not dewy. My preferred method of application with this product is to use a synthetic foundation buffing brush and buff into the skin. Start lightly, as this is a medium to full coverage formula, and build where need be.
This multipurpose foundation also has a must have SPF. Play around with the 8 different shades to the find the right one for you.
Next we have been playing with, and loving, the Maybelline NY Matte Make Powder ($11.95)
For those of you who love a matte finish, particularly my oily skinned friends, this powder is so finely milled that you can touch up multiple times throughout the day, without worrying about building the powder up and getting that dreaded ‘cake face’ look. This product also boasts to be 100% natural, which is very appealing if you are anything like me. The technology behind this product is the millions of powerful ‘micro-sponge’ particles that intact not only attract oil, but dissolve it right on the skin, so makeup build up is not something to worry about with this fine powder.
Use this powder to set foundation and maintain shine throughout the day or night. It comes in three colours, which are essentially a light, medium and darker shades. The darkest shade is great for contouring, so is worth having at least two in your makeup bag.
Finally we are loving the new Maybelline New York Expertwear Eyeshadow Quad. My favourite is the Mocha Motion ($14.95) which is a beautiful combination of gorgeous brown taupes, a natural and a soft brown/pink which all compliment each other perfectly. These quads are foolproof as each quadrant of pigment is labeled as to where you put them on the eye, which is a cute and helpful touch. The formulation is silky smooth, blends easily and the best part is the shadows are long wear, which means they last up to 12 hours after application. Perfect!!!
These shadows are best applied with a small to medium eyeshadow brush. You can utilise all the colours in the palette to create your own smokey eye style, as the instructions suggest, or you can use one or two colours to create a fabulous day wear look. It’s completely up to you!
