Global sun protection leader La Roche-Posay is set to return to the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix in 2025, offering complimentary skin checks and free sunscreen to all attendees. Partnering with Skin Check Champions for the fourth consecutive year, the mobile clinic will provide full-body skin checks in private consultation rooms from March 13 to 16. With the Australian Grand Prix once again kicking off the season and drawing record crowds, the initiative is expected to be in high demand following last year’s success, which saw 1005 skin checks performed and 83 potential skin cancers detected.
Australia has one of the highest skin cancer rates globally, with two-thirds of the population likely to be diagnosed in their lifetime. Early detection is critical, as 98% of skin cancers can be treated successfully if caught early. “We are proud to continue our ongoing partnership with Skin Check Champions as part of our national Save Your Skin campaign,” said Penelope Thornett, Managing Director of L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty – Australia and New Zealand. “We are committed to empowering individuals to take control of their skin health, increasing the likelihood of early diagnosis and successful treatment.”
For some, the initiative has been life-saving. Formula 1 fan Mark Noble, who attended the 2024 event, credits the La Roche-Posay skin check clinic with catching his melanoma in time. “This skin check saved my life,” he shared. “Without the referral, my GP said he probably would have never picked it up.” With sun safety remaining a top priority, Grand Prix ticket holders can book their complimentary skin check during the Australian Grand Prix from 10am-5pm on Thursday 13 March and 9am-5pm Friday 14 March to Sunday 16 March or find their nearest clinic at La Roche-Posay’s website.
