Taco Tuesday at The Reverence Hotel

Tacos are the only food shaped like a mouth full of meat. This fun night in Footscray will get you loose and full, with $3 tacos, $3 Tecate, and a crowd that mixes the golden oldies with the early twenties.

Everyday Fear Transit Gallery

Creep along the tracks at Newport train station and view the only thing hipper than an art gallery: a transit art gallery. Displayed on the walls of The Substation are anonymous text portraits outlining the greatest fears of Melbournians, a chance to see the hearts of those around you. If the viewing isn’t quite reason enough, step into Nosh cafe (opposite the station) for some good coffee and an atmosphere that scorns trendy and instead offers cool.

The Room at Cinema Nova

At first, The Room was just the cool movie to hate, well known for its tragic attempt at cult status and the strangeness of its creator. Now, perhaps we have reached the point where hating The Room is just old news. Cinema Nova offers a last chance to give this anti-classic the scorn is deserves.

Melbourne Comic-con

This weekend, take a chance and move away from classic cool into something a little different. The world of Comic-con takes fandoms, creators and characters and throws them into a big melting pot. In this mix of cartoon and kooky, who knows what you’ll discover.
