With a promising music career kickstarted by a runner up spot on X Factor 2014, 70 thousand followers on social media, and the subject of many #WCW, Jacinta Gulisano is adding an ambassadorship to her long list of accomplishments. A member of Supré’s newly formed girl gang, Jacinta speaks to Couturing about her career, her inspirations, and all about female empowerment.
What drew you to joining the girl gang?
The Supré Girl Gang believes in the power of girls and aims to empower them to have the confidence to take over the world! What’s not to love about that?! I also was so impressed and inspired by the other girls who are a part of the gang so it was a pleasure to join!
The girl gang and gUrl are all about female empowerment. What does this mean to you?
I believe when a girl is confident and determined she can achieve anything she sets her mind towards. Our job as members of the girl gang is to empower girls by inspiring them through our example and our achievements to show that anyone can achieve their dreams if they believe in themselves.
As a member of the girl gang, you’ve been selected as role models for the Supré audience. Who do you look up to?
I look up to a number of female role models but my biggest role model is easily my mum. She has done so much for me in my life and I wouldn’t be able to survive without her. I also look up to females who are successful in the music industry such as Beyonce and Jessie J. They are powerhouse vocalists and triple threats who I am so inspired by.
One of the rules of the gang is dress to impress yourself. How would you describe your style?
I guess I would say my style is kinda edgy with a bit of street style? Really, to me its all about feeling the best version of yourself and feeling so confident in your own skin so as long as what you’re wearing reflects you and makes you feel like a million bucks then you are going in the right direction!
What are your favourite trends for upcoming season?
This season I am loving all of the amazing leather skirts, pants and jackets that are coming in. I’m also loving big warm knits and scarves for those icy cold days. Over the knee boots are back in as well and they are super chic so I’m loving them as well!
