Jackalope hotel is partnering with celebrity favourite Kirstin King of Fluidform pilates, who is bringing her famed functional movement method to Melbourne for the first time, hosting a one-off pilates event overlooking the hotel’s vineyard. We caught up with Kirstin King to find out more about the collaboration and to find out more about Fluidform.
We’re excited that you’re here to share Fluidform with us here in Melbourne. Can you tell us a bit about Fluidform and how it came about?
Fluidform is a functional movement method I created to improve the overall strength, confidence and wellbeing of people around the world.
When my husband and I relocated to the UK, I discovered a love of functional movement. I had always been fascinated by the human body, how it moves and the power of movement on our health. During my time away from home, I worked as a Pilates instructor, where I developed an appreciation for functional, effective movement that was good for my body but also made me feel good. My experience grew from teaching professional athletes around the world. So when we came back to Australia, Fluidform was born, opening my first studio in Sydney.
We operate three studios in Australia, with three new studios set to open this year alongside our global, online program Fluidform at Home. Our highly personalised in-studio approach is replicated online, with over 200 workouts available on-demand, movement Challenges to drive results in just 21 days and a personalised program for every member. Fluidform at Home was born to deliver effective and enjoyable movement to anyone, anywhere in the world. We want to continue to spread the Fluidform way around the world, through Fluidform at Home, Fluidform Training and Fluidform Studios (and Melbourne is top of our list!).
For those that are heading to the Jackalope event, what can they expect?
The ultimate in-person Fluidform experience. For many of our Melbourne-based community, Fluidform at Home provided a saving grace through movement during multiple, prolonged lockdowns. Now that we are able to travel interstate, I wanted to give back to these people who offered spirit and motivation to our entire member base despite the challenging circumstances. Most of them do Fluidform at Home, so I wanted to be able to come to them and offer something unique, something they had never experienced before and could take away with them to learn and grow as individuals.
How did this partnership with Jackalope come about and what are you looking forward to in addition to the sold-out event overlooking the vineyards?
We love partnering with brands that share our vision of improving the lives of people around the world. Jackalope offers a unique destination experience, and we saw a natural alignment, both offering people a moment to escape the day-to-day, unwind and reconnect with themselves.
We’re excited to hear that the partnership includes in-room workouts at Jackalope. How do you see the importance of wellbeing and health with hospitality?
We know the importance of movement on our health and wellbeing, and something that should never be compromised! Even when travelling. We want people to move their bodies, feel good and confident wherever they are in the world, so why not start your day with Fluidform overlooking the beautiful vineyards of the Mornington Peninsula.
As we move into a state of norm from the pandemic, what are some of your tips to help us keep centred and focused on our wellbeing rather than spiralling back into a more hectic life?
Find a personalised routine that works for you and your body. Everybody is different, and needs different guidance to get the most out of your exercise routine. We offer a 21-day personalised program to all our members, based on their needs and goals. We have found this is the only way to achieve true results, having a program tailored to you and your body.
Find a workout buddy or motivator to keep each other accountable to daily movement. Our Fluidform Buddy Program has been a game-changer for keeping our members motivated and supported throughout their Fluidform journey.
