Fashion and travel has always been an important part of Gail Elliott’s life. From starting her career as a top model (travelling the world alongside friends and colleagues Cindy Crawford and Yasmin Le Bon) to now, as the design guru behind Little Joe Woman, who have just opened their luxe Bali boutique. We speak to her about her new collection, the Bali boutique, and the importance of chic travel.
“I’m always inspired by our travels”, Gail explains of the new collection, “I design what I like to be wearing the next season, I love prints, [so this season there is] zebra prints, leopard…I pretty much design for myself”. It’s this take of design that sets Little Joe Woman apart; always effortless and very unique to the market.
While she is quick to mention her favourites in the collection (the pantsuits are high on that list) Gail explains there’s something within the pieces for any woman who wants to look sexy, confident, and chic whoever they are.
It’s also this worldly approach to design that informed the recent opening of their flagship Bali boutique. “It’s in such a crucial position in Asia”, Joe Coffey, Gail’s partner in life and business, says of Bali’s booming fashion industry, “[with the advent of luxury hotels and restaurants], girls simply want to look good”. Gail adds that instead just of the partying tourists, there’s now a market for those that want to “Spend the day at the beach, a late lunch, shopping at four, and get a beautiful dress to wear for dinner”. “Our brand resonates well with the country, the climate, and with resort. Forever summer”, she says with a smile.
The collection is in store at Myer, and Little Joe Woman‘s e-boutique now.
