Stylish men of Melbourne gathered at the flagship Harrolds Collins street store to celebrate the launch of Spring Summer 12/13 collections. As Australia’s luxury department store for men, Harrolds was in good company with their co-hosts, international men’s style journal, Fantastic Man down in the city as part of the Semi-Permanent conference.
Exclusive invitees sipped on Laurent-Perrier Champagne, Peroni beer and cocktails while admiring the collection of beautifully crafted suits, jackets and shirts. Stocking brands such as Tom Ford Menswear, Balmain, Alexander McQueen and Church’s, guests admired the beautifully crafted clothes and shoes of these designers as well as other well-known international brands. Guests were spoilt for choice in seeing what part of the new collection could be added to their personal wardrobe.
In addition to the magnificently designed and well made suits and more formal clothes, there was a distinct ode to summer with brightly coloured polo tops, checked shirts, colourful pocket squares and vibrantly hued shorts. Perfect for those wanting to make a stylish impact when the bright summer skies appear.
Guests were fortunate to hear from Gert Jonkers, Editor in Chief of Fantastic Man who congratulated the owners of Harrolds, John and Theo Poulakis for bringing stylish and relevant collections to Australia and creating a luxury mecca for men to shop. He emphasized the impact that Harrolds has had on men’s fashion in Australia and looking around at the guests on the night, there is no doubt that this is true.
A trendy and sophisticated evening that hosted some of Melbourne’s most sartorially elegant crowd, the launch proved to be a fashion forward success.
