Ginger & Smart’s SS14 collection is inspired by the double exposure photography that captures multilayered images, strongly paralleling the multilayered Ginger & Smart woman that influences their designs.

Long, lean silhouettes move fluidly on the body, conveying a sense of strength and purpose. A modern sports luxe vibe which has become synonymous with Ginger & Smart, can be seen woven throughout the pieces, which is injected with bursts of femininity in the form of vibrant red, French lace dresses.

Inspired by the beauty of nature, Alexandra and Genevieve Smart have reworked bold, digital prints to give the illusion of double vision. Rich snake-skin, juxtaposed with delicate flowers and the beauty of an aqueous waterscape form the perfect backdrop for the collection. A vibrant quartz print speaks to the strength and fragility of the modern woman, adding a touch of grace to the strong designs.

The concept of double vision is further explored in the textures of the fabrics. Upon further inspection, what appears to be delicate lace, mirrors the rough disposition of crocodile skin. Jacquard is careful crafted from a hidden camouflage print, and overlayed with fine mesh and frayed edges, adding an engaging dimension to garments.

The concept of duality is carried on to the accessories line which features elements of rose gold, boldly inter-worked into tones of rich blues, neutrals and whites. The reptilian theme from the prints, flows wildly onto the covetable bags which feature rich, navy croc and neutral reptilian textures.

Rose-gold ear and neck cuffs and graphic sunglasses in complementing shades of rose pink, poppy red, navy and nude, round out what is another strong collection by the talented sisters behind Ginger & Smart.
