I love mid-week drinks, especially during Summer! After all, who doesn’t love to unwind at the end of a long day at work with a crisp glass of wine enjoying the warm weather and the outdoors? Well if you’re in the mood for a mid-week tipple then here are my top 3 favourite drinking venues in Melbourne to enjoy that outdoors drink.
1. Beer DeLuxe
Your mid-week session has gotten even better at Beer DeLuxe at Fed Square with the venue serving up the very best of local and international craft beer and street food. The famous beer garden will transform into a hawker style market, with food vendors dishing up all of your favourite street food, from paella to duck sliders with Asian slaw and mini American style hot dogs. The Beer DeLuxe team will be on hand, doing what they do best, serving up more than 250 different types of ales and lagers, an exquisite wine list and contemporary cocktails.
Beer DeLuxe Market will be open every Wednesday until 25 March 2015 from 5pm. Located at Federation Square.
2. Riverland
I have spent many an afternoon enjoying good weather and the Yarra with a tipple or two at Riverland. Located on the Yarra just under Fed Square, you can’t go wrong on a beautiful day with picturesque view, a great range of drinks, and a wide selection of food including a fantastic BBQ selection. If you’ve never been, do yourself a favour and check out Riverland.
Riverland is open every day. See www.riverlandbar.com.au for opening times on various days. Located at Vaults 1-9 Federation Wharf under the Princes Bridge.
3. Royal Croquet Club
Only here until Sunday 1 February, take the opportunity to head down to Birrarung Marr and experience the delights of the Royal Croquet Club for a cheeky mid week drink or any day of the week really. Enjoy the quintessential English summer cocktail, Pimms and Lemonade, or a glass of crisp Yalumba wine whilst watching happy visitors enjoy a round of croquet. The Royal Croquet Club is also home to a multitude of hot Melbourne eateries who have set up their wares to offer culinary delights including Miss Chu with their delicious egg net spring rolls, DOC with delightful meatballs and Messina who have their wonderful flavour combinations in cute soup cans.
Royal Croquet Club is located at Birrarung Marr by the banks of the Yarra and is open every day until Sunday 1 February. For opening times and more information visit www.royalcroquetclub.com.au
