STH CENTRAL SET TO OPEN IN SOUTH YARRA
Trendy South Yarra is about to lay claim to a new hip local eatery, with the launch of dining and social venue, Sth Central, set to open in Yarra Street in early December.
Sth Central is heralded as a neighbourhood-dining destination, where the focus is on timeless, friendly hospitality in a laid-back environment. Sth Central is a surefire location for locals, those arriving at South Yarra station, or wanderers on the hunt for a relaxed terminus to enjoy top-notch food and handpicked tipple.
An engaging social hub, Sth Central is the hospitality vision of partners Tommy McIntosh and Ben Avramides (of Tommy Collins ilk), chef Simon Winfield and front- man Leroy Smith, who drew together their love and knowledge of the industry to create a space where people can gather, kick back and enjoy an effortless dining experience.
Inspired by fellow industry stalwarts, The Town Mouse and Cumulus Inc., food offerings will have a modern Australian slant focusing on local meats, fish and vegetables with fire and wood grilling. The wine list, summoned from the owners’ own passion for a decent drop, will be Australian-centric to showcase the nation’s stellar producers, with a few international varieties included to please the punters.
Daniel Southern (Est Est Est, Circa, Comme) is on board as Head Chef and has tailored a contemporary Australian menu, creating dishes with a ‘meat and three veg’ focus using progressive techniques. Small-to-medium plates offering lashings of flavour and plenty of understated finesse will be on the chef’s bill.
Injecting a good dose of activity into the Yarra Lane precinct, Sth Central will offer Parisian-style, street-front outdoor seating that’s sure to create a festive atmosphere for the impending summer months.
Situated directly opposite South Yarra station, Sth Central’s location is a big draw-card. Close to the Toorak Road shopping strip and the main public transport vein, there will be no excuse for driving to the suburb’s hottest new venue.
Open for lunch and dinner 7 days, 12.00pm – 12.00am 4 Yarra St, South Yarra
