PIZZA IS SEXY AT A25
The words ‘sexy’ and ‘pizza’ may not conventionally be used in the same sentence. But Remo Nicolini’s Italian creation, A25, delivers just that. Since opening earlier this year, the South Yarra restaurant has been transporting diners to the pizzerias of Rome, serving up authentic Italian fare in a bright and modern dining space created by Luke Henley.
Taking inspiration from the Italian experience of owner Nicolini, Henley worked with them to combine the best of Rome and the costal town of Pescara.
A Sophia Loren mural looks down over diners from the pizzeria wall with the duo’s mantra ‘Pizza is Sexy’ scrawled across it in bright neon pink lights. The influence of Pescara, a town famous for its party vibe, is felt by these splashes of pink, which you’ll see on the pizza boxes decorating the space and hints on the menus.
The A25 menu aligns the traditional with the new combining the influence lauded chef Raymond Capaldi, offering five ‘crazy pizzas’ as well as some much loved favourites, all made with the finest Italian ingredients. The L.S.D pizza pairs cream of dates and Italian sausage, sprinkled with licorice dust, pecorino shavings and radicchio.
A25 is the perfect balance of tradition and innovation, backed by authentic Italian cuisine and a pair of hospitality masterminds.
