LIEFJE CHOCOLATE – MADE WITH LOVE
Introducing Liefje: a luxurious organic chocolate, handcrafted in small batches on the Victorian Surf Coast. First made for love, but now shared with a growing fan base across Australia. Liefje’s all-natural ingredients contain no gluten, dairy, cane sugar or preservatives. The couverture chocolate is traditionally tempered giving it the glossy finish, defined snap when broken and velvety melt-in-the-mouth texture of a fine chocolate.
Liefje (pronounced leef-yuh) was created by Leo Kats and Nikki Hillier. The name is taken from the Dutch term of endearment meaning ‘sweetheart.’ Liefje is made from antioxidant-rich, certified fair trade and organic Peruvian raw cacao, the finest of its kind thanks to Peru’s cacao-growing heritage, unique biodiversity and fertile soil. It is also the only Australian chocolate to use pure Canadian maple syrup, giving it a subtle sweetness without the sugar spike and adding a depth of flavour akin to toasted caramel. Maple syrup contains nutrients like zinc and calcium and is also said to stimulate the release of insulin, aiding those with diabetes and enhancing liver function. Unlike agave, maple syrup is also FODMAP friendly, making it suitable for anyone on a low fructose diet.
Liefje’s luxurious range of flavours includes Smoked Salt, made from 80% organic raw cacao with naturally oak-smoked Crabtree Murray Darling salt for the serious dark chocolate lover; Pomegranate & Pepperberry (78%) featuring fragrant home made pomegranate molasses and a hint of native Tasmanian pepperberry; Hazelnut Crunch (62%) with maple syrup roasted hazelnuts and natural chilli salt; and Spice Trail (78%) created with a blend of six hand-ground spices – soft cinnamon, spicy cloves, black pepper, cardamom and sweet star anise with a final pinch of ancho chilli.
Liefje is available online at liefje.com.au and at selected specialists stores and organic grocers in VIC, NSW, TAS and SA; the gift boxes are exclusively available via the Liefje website and SorryThanksILoveYou. RRP: Liefje 55g bars $8.95 each, $30 Gift Box (3 bars), $37.50 Gift Box (4 bars).

NIGHT TRIPPING AT THE ST. HOTEL
Following the success of Day Tripping at the St. Hotel earlier in the year, they are deciding to treat Melbourne’s Asian street food lovers with Night Tripping at the St. Hotel. Gathering four of the city’s best hawker venues – Hanoi Hannah, Saigon Sally, Tokyo Tina and Banoi – they will be serving their most banging dishes from bustling stalls in a popup Asian marketplace. Adding to the bumper list of gourmet bastions of Melbourne, they will be joined by Pidapipo, Melbourne’s beloved gelateria who will be providing a selection of sweet, refreshing, handmade flavours to combat those exotic spices consumed at the other stalls.
As well as a party in your mouth, ticket holders can also expect the unexpected from this food disco, with a lineup of circus acts and freaky entertainment strutting their stuff around every corner.
Tickets are $45 and can be brought from http://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/night-tripping-sthotel-tickets-17132185829
