VINOMOFO AND FAMED YARRA VALLEY WINERIES SUPPORT HOMELESS GRAPES PROJECT
Hundreds of locals are descending on TarraWarra Estate on the 2nd of March to become a winemaker for the day and pick grapes to create a wine that will support Melbourne’s homeless community.
Vinomofo, TarraWarra Estate and Rob Dolan Wines have joined forces this year, to create a beautiful and iconic Yarra Valley Chardonnay. The last few grapes for this soon to be wine are going to be picked as a community event at TarraWarra Estate on the 2nd of March, from 9am.
All proceeds from the sale of this wine will be donated to Fitzroy’s St Mary’s House o Welcome – yup, every single cent. A six pack of wine will generate a hot breakfast and lunch for a week for someone doing it tough.
WILLIAMSTOWN WINE AND CHEESE FESTIVAL
The Wine & Cheese Fest will return to Williamstown this year, Saturday 9 March, as part of the 2019 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival program of events. Located at the newly renovated Seaworks, the day promises a feast for all the senses beautifully situated along the Williamstown foreshore.
Over 50 + fine quality wine, cheese, and artisan food vendors will be showcasing their gourmet products, plus hot food and specialty arts & crafts stalls. From wheels of fine cheeses and savoury sauces, pickled preserves and home-style pastries, to smoked and cured meats, luscious desserts and a wide variety of craft beers, ciders and refreshments, the Wine & Cheese Fest will have something on offer for everyone’s tastebuds.
The always popular Grape Stomp Comp returns to lay down the gauntlet for punters to produce as much juice as possible the old world way…and look good doing it! For families, a dedicated Kids Zone offers fun activities to keep youngsters entertained and live music and DJs will be performing amidst the backdrop of stunning city and seascape views.
The day doesn’t have to end with the setting sun with an After Party on at Pirates Tavern from 6pm. Free entry included as part of the WCF festival ticket. General entry includes a signature Festival glass and all exhibitor tastings. A variety of packages are also on offer to make for a premium experience. Book online for discounted ticket prices.
GOOD TIMES MILK BAR LAUNCHES NEW MENU
Bayside’s go-to cafe, Good Times Milk Bar has rolled out a new summer menu to enjoy in the refurbished courtyard, with friends and family (two and four legged). Good Times Milk Bar has created a mouthwatering Summer menu with a collection of easy, breezy, sunny dishes.
New & revamped menu items include the new Granola Smoothie Bowl – nutty granola, strawberry, banana, coconut, chia seeds & pepitas; the new and improved Avocado Toast – ricotta salata, sweet corn salsa, salsa verde, poached egg, lime, toast & add on bacon or smoked trout; an updated cafe favourite, Chilli Scrambled Eggs with spanish onion, tomato, coriander, parsley, hot sauce, crispy tortilla, guacamole, jalapeno monterey jack cheese, toast & add chorizo for a bit of extra spice and for all the vegetarians, the Green Burger – green pea, quinoa & kale patty, tomato, green hummus, dill pickle, lettuce, green-goodness sauce, and mouth watering beer battered fries.
