With a name that alludes to a rather large amount of space, Fifty Acres is a surprisingly cosy spot. Nick Gaoutsos and his team have settled in on the retail end of Bridge Road, providing shoppers the perfect little coffee haven away from the sale hungry crowds.
The well lit, no-fuss and simply elegant interior makes for a warm welcome. The large street windows and cool light palette is refreshing, summoning you from the often hectic shopping strip.
Watching the baristas at work you can see that each cup is carefully poured to ensure excellence in every sip. Their house blend is from Dukes Coffee Roasters, with guest roasters rotating weekly. Should caffeine not be your thing, you can tease yourself with a blend from Storm in a Teacup or a delicious Kali Premium Hot Chocolate.
The food is honest and pleasant. For breakfast they offer plenty of familiar options with a few subtle twists. Lunch, however, is a little more upmarket including confit duck leg salad and a goats cheese souffle all in a very reasonable price range, leaving you plenty of cash to splash at the shops.
Open everyday of the week for breakfast and lunch, get in before this little haven has you cueing like it’s the Boxing Day sales.
