There’s a new destination all fashion lovers need to memorise. FashionOnTop, the newest addition to the high fashion and glamour of Melbourne’s Collins Street, officially opened its doors last week, and we take you into their glamorous boutique opening party.
Internationally renowned designers, Karla Spetic and Toni Maticevski attended the event as VIP guests, and invitees enjoyed meeting the talent behind the labels.
In addition to Maticevski and Karla Spetic, the boutique also carries a curated selection of cutting-edge ready-to-wear fashion labels, and is also the biggest stockist of Manolo Blahnik designer shoes in Australia (and the only stockist in Melbourne!) The bestseller, the Hangisi style, comes in a variety of colours; a very classic design, and most synonymous with the Manolo brand. A beautiful shoe for a special occasion, in particular, the white is ideal for a bride’s special day, and as seen on Olivia Palermo and as Carrie Bradshaw’s ‘something blue.’
As well as being stocked in store in Melbourne, they also aim to make these brands accessible to fashion lovers worldwide, in their boutique situated in China, and by way of a fast, easy and trustworthy e-commerce facility. There are now further expansion plans, with two more boutiques opening in China over the next 12 months.
Guests were treated to an array of stunning shoes in a rainbow of colours; flats and heels encrusted with elegant pearls and exquisite crystal buckles. Show-stopping lace dresses by Alex Perry, statement prints by Karla Spetic, silk separates by Alice McCall and pretty summer casuals from LifeWithBird were all stars of the show.
The Dom Perignon flowed, Callas Lillies, MOR Modern Apothecary candles, and white and gold balloons, provided a sweet smelling, colourful backdrop to the party setting. Fashion Illustrator, Angie Rehe, (as seen in Vogue and ELLE magazine) sketched guests throughout the night, finishing off her works of art with strokes of watercolour. Music by DJ’s Thank You City (of Chameleon Recordings) provided background beats.
FashionOnTop has also now welcomed Karen Walker sunglasses to their boutique. With a view to offer ladies of Melbourne with a varied brand mix, the best in designer wear and a stunning selection of Manolo Blahnik footwear, the boutique will strive to be a go-to fashion destination for the style-conscious.
