With creativity lying at the heart of the Swarovski name, the crystal giant’s SS14/15 runway presentation at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia celebrated luxury and opulence.
Swarovski’s ‘Facets of Light’ collection truly encapsulated all that is synonymous with the crystal label. Modernity met refinement in a collection celebrating lights, facets and reflections. Innovation drove the runway presentation, with men’s and women’s Swaroski encrusted jewellery draped off the models like armour.
Opened by Victoria’s Secret alumni Shanina Shaik, chunky embellished neckpieces were teamed with delicate bracelets, highlighting the universal appeal of versatility of Swarovski jewellery. Delicate pendants swung from fine chains, layered one on top of the other emulating the same layered style we’ve seen in apparel throughout fashion week.
Bold aztec inspired metallic neckpieces and geometric wristcuffs clung to the models like armour, teamed with crisp white and bronze shift dresses. The beauty of these pieces is that, although ostentatious, it has the power to be worked back with a classic white shirt and ripped denim.
The ever-favoured hourglass silhouette makes its way into the world of accessories, with a crystal encrusted and chain draped waspie cinching in the waist of a boxy grey marle sweater. A similar style in gold finds itself chained to exaggerated shoulder armour, rich in its intricacy.
Mens jewellery was understated, taking shape in dog tag pendants and subtly embellished watches.
A collection celebrating light and driven by innovation and creativity, Swarovski ‘Facets of Light’ is a collection built on luxury.
