Marc Jacobs has teamed up with longtime muse Sofia Coppola to launch the designer’s latest fragrance, Daisy Dream. Coppola has directed the campaign for the perfume which features model Antonia Wesseloh.
The movie, reminiscent of Coppola’s cult classic The Virgin Suicides, sees Wesseloh in a dream like state lying in a field of daisies, wearing a gauzy white dress. The trippy music by the Sleigh Bells sets the perfect vibe for this summery scent.
Like it’s Daisy counterparts, Dream is made for the girl who loves a scent that is fruity and floral with a twist. More sophisticated that the original version of the scent, the unusual fragrance is made from a blend of lychee, pear, grapefruit, blackberries, blue wisteria, jasmine are blended with the essence of coconut water.
The scent is housed in a delicate blue bottle, which echos the sky on a bright summer’s day. Like the other Daisy fragrances, the Dream bottle is freckled with delicate daisies, creating a playful feel.
Speaking about what inspired the series of Daisy scents, Jacobs said “The whole Daisy thing started with Daisy Buchanan. The Mia Farrow Daisy Buchanan. She is my favourite character in literature. There was some irony in a sense, because a daisy doesn’t smell, but it is a flower that I felt evoked a certain spirit in a lot of women.”
Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream will be available to purchase from 3 August from Myer and David Jones.
