If you’re looking a place where all your Italian food desires can be met then look no further than Crinitis. This Italian restaurant has one of the biggest menus I’ve ever seen which means you could easily come back time and time to have something totally different.
There are two outposts of Crinitis, Carlton and Southbank. We visited the Southbank restaurant which has lovely views of the city and the Yarra. Brightly lit, the restaurant is a haven for diners seeking delicious Italian fare or a casual coffee or drink. Suitable for large and small groups, the restaurant is an ode to all things Italian. From nods to Ferrari to bottles of chianti, the restaurant has a lovely feel that makes dining enjoyable.
The mains include over 40+ pizzas (tomato based and white based) and over 30 pastas to choose from as well as risottos and protein based mains. The challenge with the menu, especially if you’re like me being an eyes bigger than stomach person, is whittling down your choice to a select few dishes. If you’re heading here with a group of people I would suggest ordering a range of different dishes so you can share and get a taste of everything! Serving sizes are quite generous which is great because it means that everyone can taste a bit of everything.
Pizza had the perfect base, not too doughy and crisp, and a good amount of topping – an important ratio when it comes to a good pizza.
Pasta was cooked perfectly and the generous servings of the Seafood linguine and Puttanesca rigatoni took us to Italy.
If you’re a sweet tooth, definitely make room for the Nutella pizza, a delectable and delicious combination of pizza dough, nutella and ice cream, or the Loaded cookie bake, a peanut and choc chip cookie served with fudge sauce, hazelnut gelato and a chocolate shake. The perfect way to finish your meal!
