‘In the hem of all the dresses, there’s a ruby and it says c***.’
No one is more able to capture her debut collection, Never the Bride than Courtney Love herself.
The line combines wispy silhouettes and ethereal textures with the rock widow’s free-spirited joie de vivre. The result? Embellishment-heavy, festival-friendly offerings that will undoubtedly feature in the closets of any self-respecting bourgeois bohemian.
The collection is showcased by Chloe Norgaad – she of mermaid hair and Tumblr fame. Norgaad is the epitome of abandoned romance in Victorian lace and cheeky hemlines – a far cry from “Bette Davis in Whatever Happened After Baby Jane.”
Never the Bride could have been lifted from a young Love’s wardrobe – passion, nostalgia and glitter. According to Love’s Twitter, the collection will be stocked in Net-A-Porter, although this has yet to be confirmed by the online store. Until then, we will have to make do with ripped up stockings and fairy wings.
