CeraVe, the global skincare brand renowned for its dermatologist-developed products, is making waves in Australia with the launch of its new SPF50 Facial Moisturising Lotion. In an effort to encourage Aussies to ‘Always Use Protection,’ CeraVe has enlisted Australian media personality Abbie Chatfield to front its bold outdoor and digital media campaign. The new product combines broad-spectrum SPF50 protection with the hydrating benefits of a daily moisturiser, offering a simple yet effective skincare solution for Australians, who are among the highest risk groups for skin cancer globally.

The innovative SPF50 Facial Moisturising Lotion is designed for normal to dry skin and provides all-day hydration with CeraVe’s signature ingredients, including three essential ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide. With its lightweight, non-greasy formula, the 2-in-1 product offers both hydration and high UV protection in just one easy step. Unlike many sunscreens that can feel heavy or leave a white cast, this formula absorbs quickly without compromising on the essential SPF50 protection against both UVA and UVB rays, making it suitable for daily wear—regardless of the weather.

Abbie Chatfield, a proud Queensland native, understands the importance of sun protection, especially given the harsh Australian climate. “Whether I’m out in the sun or just going about my day, I always use protection,” says Abbie. “The right SPF is a daily essential, and what I love about CeraVe’s SPF50 Facial Moisturising Lotion is that it makes it easy to look after my skin without adding extra steps to my routine.” Abbie’s partnership with CeraVe highlights the growing concern about skin cancer, as new research reveals that more than two-thirds of Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime. However, only one in five Australians use sunscreen on their face every day.

CeraVe is aiming to address common sunscreen hesitations by offering a product that is quick, easy to use, and free from the typical drawbacks such as greasiness, breakouts, and unpleasant textures. The brand’s Medical Director, Samantha Russell, explains, “We created this product with the goal of providing an accessible, 2-in-1 solution that encourages everyday use. With Abbie’s bold campaign, we’re hoping to educate Australians on the importance of daily sun protection and help them incorporate SPF into their skincare routine year-round.”

The CeraVe SPF50 Facial Moisturising Lotion (52ml, RRP $26.99) is now available exclusively at Chemist Warehouse.

ALWAYS READ THE LABEL AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR USE. Apply 20 minutes before sun exposure. Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection so wear protective clothing and seek shade. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours and after swimming, towelling and perspiring in accordance with directions.
