In case you didn’t know, September 13 is World Chocolate Day. A day for chocolate you say? Well everyday is chocolate day for me but a world wide celebration for chocolate seems appropriate given the joy it brings to people every day. To help celebrate, we spoke to the guys at Cadbury to give us quirky facts about chocolate.
Chocolate is one of the ingredients that when matched with almost anything (almost!), can create a surprisingly delicious result. Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations know what works – and what doesn’t – when it comes to finding perfect partner flavours for chocolate. To celebrate the launch of their new range of carnival-inspired blocks and bars, Marvellous Creations has named their favourite surprising yet extremely tantalising chocolate combinations:
Chocolate and… Orange: The classic combination of orange comes alive when the two meet and melt in your mouth. Whether it’s whole segments of the tangy fruit or chewy orange lollies, the combination of chocolate and orange creates a tropical flavour combination full of zest.
Chocolate and… Cola: Everybody’s favourite party treats are a match made in heaven when you put them together. The smooth, sweet crack of the chocolate, paired with the fizz of Cola creates a flavour combination that when popped in your mouth, creates a taste explosion full of fun and fervour.
Chocolate and…Jelly: The old-fashioned favourite dessert that wobbles on your plate, matched with chocolate, creates a flavour combination that is lip-smackingly sweet and full of juicy jellies.
Chocolate and… Chilli: What do you get when you match the sweet, creamy flavour of chocolate with the sharp, spicy bite of red chilli? A delicious palate-cleansing treat that bursts with a bang of flavour in your mouth with every bite!
Chocolate and… Ginger: The matching of chocolate with a root best known for its punch and zest creates a taste experience full of punch. The zing of the ginger, paired with the sweet chocolate creates a surprising flavour that sits somewhere between sweet and savoury.
Chocolate and…Bacon: You may not be allowed dessert at breakfast, but who says you can’t have breakfast with your dessert? The combination of chocolate and bacon creates a surprisingly salty yet sweet treat ideal for any meal of the day!
