Launching on Friday 20 May, Highpoint’s new immersive event and branded experiences festival, Highpoint: Close Up, is set to create, inspire and ignite conversations that explore self-care, debunk trends and allow guests to discover their own path through the world of beauty, skincare and wellness. The 10-day retail festival includes interactive workshops, educational masterclasses, Q&A events, pop-up activations, giveaways and more by industry experts, thought-provoking leaders and globally renowned brands.
Miss Universe Australia Maria Thattil will join the line-up of talent participating in Highpoint: Close Up, alongside beauty creative Chantelle Baker, makeup artists Sophia Pafitis, Marielou Makeup and Daniel Tan.
Australia’s most celebrated contemporary South-Asian media personality, Maria is a driven diversity advocate, content creator, commentator, panellist, writer, model and speaker – using her voice to create meaningful dialogue and campaign for change. She is a current panellist on Channel Nine’s ‘Talking Honey’ and ‘Today Extra’ and is a contributor and columnist for top lifestyle website 9Honey and national publication Stellar Magazine. Many of Maria’s discussion topics and projects focus on social justice issues
including anti-racism, diversity, inclusion, representation, youth empowerment, mental health, sexism, gender equality and LGBTQIA+ issues.
On Highpoint: Close Up’s opening weekend, Maria will be a guest panellist at Australian LGBTQIA+ charity Minus18’s forum event on inclusive beauty, as well as the host of an intimate Highpoint beauty retailer masterclass on the closing weekend.
