LIFEwithBIRD’s Summer 2014/2015 collection, STILLS, embodies a memory seized and held tight. With the notion of life as and ever-moving force, a ‘still’ allows us to take the opportunity to pause and reminisce. The idea for Spring Summer is for each look to capture a moment where reality has been slowed to a pace where it becomes visible in a solid frame.
Designer Bridget’s love of photography played a major role in the creative process. Allowing prints to be pushed in and out of focus was pivotal in creatig the Hirachi and Focal Plane prints, whilst splicing and elongated exposures formed the basis for the Halogen and Windshot prints.
Digital prints continue to be a strong direction for LIFEwithBIRD, although paired back with a raw simplicity. Longer silhouettes continue to evolve whilst layering and texture play a major part in defining the fabrication and design.
The importance of quality, expert craftsmanship and attention to detail resonates deeply, informing LIFEwithBIRD’s core philosophy. STILLS is about clothes that refine instead of define. This refinement is about reaffirming a classic attitude, but imparting a level of individuality without the feeling of being forced.
The beauty of function continues to drive the LIFEwithBIRD aesthetic, whilst imparting and ever-present air of confidence and effortless cool.
