If Candice Swanepoel was born a couple decades earlier she would have easily been one of The Supers along with Cindy, Christie, Naomi and Kate, so it’s fitting that her collaboration with MOTHER denim gives a wink back to the 90s and minimal street style worn uniformly by the supermodel crew.
The capsule collection features seven styles, including ultra high-waisted skinny jean, cut-offs, and an on-trend take on a boyfriend jean, and was designed by Candice alongside the designer for MOTHER, Tim Kaeding. The stunning campaign was shot by famed photographer, Russell James, who, as the principal photographer of Victoria’s Secret, is no stranger to photographing the blonde bombshell. The resulting imagery nods to the sleek, simple shots that dominated 90s denim campaigns.
And it’s not just about stealing the street style of supermodels, Candice Swanepoel + MOTHER Denim is in support of mothers2mothers, a charity working to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV/Aids across sub-Saharan Africa, with a portion of every sale going to the charity.
“I had such a great time developing this collection with Tim and Lela…Not only was I able to explore my own creativity, but also garner attention and support for an organisation that saves lives and empowers women and mother-to-be”, said the South African-born Candice.
The collection is available now at MOTHER denim and you can see all the campaign shots below.
