MYER launched its Spring/Summer ’15 collection with a beautiful collection showcasing what is on trend for the upcoming season. Creating the Beauty looks for the show were KEVIN.MURPHY who did the brightly coloured hair, and Napoleon Perdis who created the makeup look.
We got the low down on how to get the looks from the show.
Hair by KEVIN.MURPHY
The runway show featured an array of colourful locks and beauty trends to try this season. Global hair director Kevin Murphy shared his inspiration behind the look, and how to recreate the look at home.
Showcasing inspiration from 1940s, KEVIN.MURPHY brought glamour to life in the parade, with notes of soft pastel pinks, purples and mint green twisted into a low bun.
“We wanted the look to be whimsical and romantic. Soft pastels and colour is really the trend of the season, but we wanted the look to be classic still, so the style of the hair has notes of the 1940s,” said Murphy.
Taking inspiration from water and the ocean, Murphy described how to recreate this look in six simple steps.
Step 1 – Prime the hair using Hair.Resort.Spray ($34.95) when the hair is dry
Step 2 – Part the hair off centre and using a medium tong, tong the hair on the front and top to create volume
Step 3 – Loosely braid both sides back toward the nape
Step 4 – Stitch with hair elastic, rolling up away from hairline, toward the nape
Step 5 –Once the style has been created, apply Fresh.Hair ($32.95) and White.Bug ($24.95) liberally until white hair is achieved, then seal with Session.Spray ($29.95)
Step 6 – It’s time to get creative with colour and pick your favourite Color.Bug ($24.95) and rub into the hair. Finish with Shimmer.Shine ($39.95).
