We continue our coverage of the beauty looks from Day 4 at MBFWA 15.
JENNIFER KATE
Makeup by Gorgeous Cosmetics
Makeup artist, Nicola Burford, created a youthful and coloured look for Jennifer Kate. “The look is based on the Jennifer Kate girl who is young, artistic and inspired by the art gallery space she’s in. She’s consumed by the colour, paintwork and texture of her surroundings”. Nicola custom mixed two sets of colours. The first, white was mixed with denim blue, and the second, white was mixed with a pure orange – both applied around the eyes. Lips were given a peachy glow and skin kept very natural with a layer of sheer foundation and soft highlights applied on the face. Helen Dowsley lashes were used to increase the focus of the eyes.
Hair by Goldwell
Goldwell Hair director Marie Cain created a look that was relaxed and cool, with a bit of structure. The look was “boyish, akin to a surfer who’s just come out of the surf and pulled his hair back, messily”. Hair had a good amount of texture with loose flyaways around the face. “The palette of the collection is quite light, and the models walk through white confetti. The whispy flyaway hair will bounce as the models walk down the runway.” Structure was added to the look with a tight and defined cornrow braid at the back of the hair
In creating the look, Marie said it was “all about the build of texture”. StyleSign Hot form was blow dried from roots to the ends, to build up texture. Dualsenses Ultra Volume Dry Shampoo was heavily applied to add a chalky feel. A section was braided at the back and to finish off StyleSign Big Finish Volume Hairspray was added for shine. A cool effortless look that has just a bit of a twist on the normal pony tail.
GROUP SWIM
Makeup by M.A.C.

Ocea Ferber from M.A.C. wanted to steer away from the atypical look associated with Swimwear, meaning that the look wasn’t your typical bronzy effect. Ocea called her look “Bondi chic meets Bridget Bardot”, keeping in theme with the team at Redken ,who also looked to steer away from the typical bronzed look. Ocea added cluster freckling around the nose in a nod to swim. Using mainly lip pencils include the shade Chestnut and M.A.C. Penultimate liquid brow pen, dots were popped on the face, pressing into the face with fingers to have a natural effect. Brows were combed up, and skin was left natural, concealing only where needed. A soft neutral lip was achieved with Honey Love lipstick using a fluffy brush to give an effortless look.
Hair by Redken

Redken Hair Director, Paloma Garcia Rose, wanted to step away from an Australian beach look and looked for inspiration in high end styles from Italian Vogue and styles from the French riviera. Hair was prepped with Redken Guts, a mousse that was sprayed through the hair and blow dried. Hair was slicked back and sprayed with Redken Forceful 23 to keep the hold. Using tongs, a diagonal bend was created starting at the top right and moving down the hair creating a diagonal line.
GALANNI
Makeup by Make Up Store
Marie Gabriel for Make Up Store created a striking and sophisticated look keeping in theme with the elegance of the collection. Luminous dewy skin was created using Make Up Store Liquid Foundation mixed with Make Up Store Illuminizer. A chocolate gold smokey eye was created and teamed with a nude lip, meaning the pieces from the collection shined through.
Hair by Goldwell
Hair Director Ida Tirimacco took the lady-like glamour from the GALANNI collection and workshopped a sophisticated and elegant hair look for the show. “With the structured components of the gown, we decided to go for a softer, sexier and more fresh hair look to in the hair. We wanted to maintain the femininity and glamour of the range, but have some movement in the hair. After speaking with Lenna and Catherine, it was obvious that their collections are about designing for a womans’s body, their curves and the way their gowns fall. We wanted that touch of Hollywood glamour, without the structure of an up-style.”
