Jessica Biel’s much anticipated dress for her wedding to Justin Timberlake has been revealed and she hasn’t disappointed. While chosing a traditional princess style silhouette, the new Mrs Timberlake shied away from white, instead chosing a stunning pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown for her big day. The strapless gown was made from silk mousseline and silk organza and was detailed with a light pink floral moptif and ruffles. Not to be outdone in the fashion stakes, Timberlake donned a Tom Ford tuxedo he co-designed.

When asked about what influenced her gown choice, she said she wanted it to be “romance, romance, romance. Kind of whimsical and dramatic.” Biel told People Magazine that “I actually surprised myself when I chose the dress. It’s a style I will only ever wear that one day.”
Biel isn’t the first Hollywood bride to think pink for her wedding day. Recently, Anne Hathaway chose a frothy tulle Valentino gown, with the bottom hand painted with pink for her nuptials to Adam Shulman.

In perhaps what could be a nod to her pink loving Legally Blonde character Elle Woods, Reese Witherspoon also chose pink for her wedding to agent Jim Toth. Donning a blush-hued Monique Lhuillier custom made gown, Withspoon, like Biel, also chose a traditional silhouette, with her Chantilly lace corset bodice and full tuelle A-line skirt ensuring all eyes were on her.

Rocker Gwen Stefani, noted for her bold fashion choices, chose a daring John Galliano gown for her wedding to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. The striking gown was hand painted pink along the bottom, which slowly graduated to a more traditional white, giving the gown an ombre effect.

So as if brides didn’t have enough decisions to worry about on their wedding day, it now seems even the traditional white gown may not be a certainty!
