Who said Runway hair styles can’t be recreated at home easily? Recently at the Melbourne Fashion Festival, Joey Scandizzo, Lead Stylist, Hair Director of Melbourne Fashion Festival 2022 and friend of Dyson, focused on creating styles that were minimalist with a softness to them, whilst ensuring a natural finish and healthy shine.
For the first runway, Joey took inspiration from Australian fashion designers whose work encapsulated a covetable and timeless elegance. The result was a refined silhouette, representative of today’s global woman, perfect for those that want to look fab but require only a few steps to achieve the sophisticated result.
Joey shared the easy 5 steps it took to create the look.
Step 1: Create a centre part. After priming the hair with volume foam section by section, comb through for even distribution. Continue to apply and comb through to the ends. To blow-dry smooth, the Dyson Supersonic™️ hair dryer is used alongside the Styling Concentrator attachment followed by a round brush to smooth the hair and straighten it out holding it into a low pony, creating a mirrored shine on the hair.
Step 2: Spray with a dry finish way spray. Then do a final brush and pull hair into place. Secure the ponytail and tie off firmly with elastic. Pull elastic tight and cut away excess.
Step 3: Run the Dyson Corrale™️ straightener through the hair to create an S-bend wave section by section, smoothing the cuticle down and letting the flexing plates do their work to gather the hair into place, creating a high shine base.
Step 4: Complete the top section keeping the pony flat. Comb through using a wide tooth comb then spray with dry finish wax spray to complete the look.
Step 5: To finish off the look use the Dyson Supersonic™️ Flyaway Attachment – which harnesses the Coanda effect to hide flyaways without extreme heat – it’s used to smooth any flyaways around the crown of the head.
