Witchery and the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) have announced comedian Celeste Barber as the official ambassador for the 13th annual White Shirt Campaign.
Best known for celebrity parodies that are shared with her more than 7.7 million Instagram followers, Celeste Barber uses humour to encourage women to find self love and embrace their bodies. “It’s an honour to be the official ambassador for this year’s White Shirt Campaign. I work hard to help to encourage women to love how they look and respect their bodies in their natural form, ovaries and all”
“I was incredibly shocked to learn that invasive surgery is currently the only way to detect and accurately diagnose ovarian cancer. Vital research is needed to find a non-invasive, early detection alternative, that is readily available to all women”
The White Shirt Campaign hinges on the importance of vital research needed to ensure that women, everywhere are free from the threat of ovarian cancer. The research strives to develop an early detection test for ovarian cancer that is as readily available and as accessible as a pap smear or mammogram.
Designed by Toni Maticevski, the 2021 Witchery White Shirt is a take on a classic tailored shirt featuring strong shoulder detailing, ribboning from the neck into the sleeve cuff and tapering into the waist and on the hips. For every Witchery White shirt sold, Witchery will donate 100% of the gross proceeds to the OCRF – the only leading Australian fashion brand to donate to do this for a charitable cause.
The 2021 Witchery White Shirt will be available to shop online via www.witchery.com.au and in-store throughout Australia and New Zealand from Monday 12 April 2021. Witchery White Shirt Day and World Ovarian Cancer Day is Saturday 8 May 2021.
