On-board beauty essentials…
Keeping your skin hydrated on the plane can be super tricky. Between the liquid restrictions, drying effects of air conditioning and altitude, making sure your skin is hydrated requires just a few key products. I have taken countless flights for both work and personally and have found that my number one tip is to keep it simple. There are only so many products that fit into that clear ziplock bag so make it count. Here are my favourites for on-board beauty to ensure you walk off the plane looking fresh and ready for your adventure at your destination.
Skinceuticals HA Intensifier – A super effective hyaluronic acid that gives a great injection of hydration to your skin and really helps your skin retain its moistuire levels. I love to use a small amount of this before applying my moisturiser. A 30ml bottle will not only be useful on the plane but will double as your holiday serum.
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Butter – This super hydrating moisturiser is made of six cold-pressed African oils and ceramides that increase and maintain hydration in your skin. The formulation is thick but soaks in without leaving skin greasy. You can purchase this in a travel size (15ml) which is perfect for taking on the plane.
Beaute Pacifique SuperFruit Hydrating Mist – A spritz of this nutrition fused mist periodically during your flight helps to revive your senses and make you feel refreshed. I used this mist on my last trip and loved how it made my skin feel every time I sprayed it. A great way to maintain the moisture levels on your face.
innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask – This nifty and super easy sheet mask is a real saviour if you’re flying long haul. I am a big fan of the innisfree sheet masks because they’re not only effective but they’re also really well priced. Starting from only $2, you can literally buy a dozen of these to put in your suitcase to use along the way to inject a bit of pizazz to your beauty regime on board and on your holiday. I love the Aloe or Hyaluronic mask for on board use. Admittedly I pop mine on in the airplane bathroom for a few minutes but if you’re braver than me, you can pop one on at your seat!
CeraVe Restorative Hand Cream – This hand cream one of my newest finds and worked a treat on the plane. If you’ve not heard of this brand before, CeraVe helps replenish your skin’s ceramides. I swear by the moisturising lotion as my body lotion as it’s non-greasy, super absorbent and leaves skin feeling hydrated, smooth and moisturised, and this hand cream equally leaves my hands feeling smooth and supple.
Grown Alchemist Watermelon and Vanilla Lip Balm – There’s a reason why this lipbalm has so many fans, including actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Not only does it help to keep your lips hydrated, it also smells heavenly which is so nice when you’re stuck on a plane. The antioxidants and hydrating properties make this a keeper in your on-board beauty kit.
