We all know that Mecca is a treasure trove of all your beauty needs and with the launch of the new Mecca at Myer Melbourne, you’d be hard pressed not to find what your looking for. Mecca at Myer Melbourne expands from its previous incarnation and has evolved to feature all its brands found at Mecca and Mecca Maxima into one space.
With dedicated spaces for fragrance, skincare, exclusive brands and an area for testing products, combined with a Beauty Concierge service the new Mecca redefines the customer experience. The Beauty Concierge service desk is your first stop if you want to ask questions on products or where you can put your name down so that a knowledgeable mecca associate can help with more in depth questions and/or test out the products. The team has dedicated Fragrance, Skin and Colour specialists so you won’t have a problem with someone to help you find that perfect product to suit your needs or wants.
My visit to the new Mecca coincided with sampling one of their opening celebration services, a Kate Sommerville Oxygen treatment. Whilst this treatment was not on the normal service catalogue, Mecca often have special in store and international events where Beauty Loop members can book in to experience the best in beauty.
My skin was in desperate need of a treatment after long days at work and amped up heating. Luckily I was in safe hands with Tania who is a Mecca skincare specialist. Seated in the middle of the skincare area, I have to say that despite the noise and activity that seemed to be around me, I actually felt quite relaxed. The new surroundings are bright and modern yet have a feel of old world charm, reminiscent of luxury department stores in London who have floors dedicated to Beauty. Definitely put me in the right headspace for this treatment.
We began my skincare experience with an assessment of my face and skincare deficiencies/areas of focus. I had some concern about the dryness of my skin especially around the forehead and Tania also identified dryness around the nose and suggested we target those particular areas more during the treatment.
The treatment kicked off with a double cleanse using ExfoliKate Cleanser to remove impurities followed by Clinic-To-Go Resurfacing Peel Pads applied especially on my forehead to reduce the appearance of fine lines. This was followed by the application of the Derma Quench Liquid Lift serum using a special machine that infused the serum and oxygen into my face. I have to say it was an odd feeling but the treatment really hit the spot with my skin looking plump and hydrated. We then used the Cyto Cell Energising treatment to lock in the hydration and finished with Goat Milk moisturising cream patted on the face as well as a mix of the Goat Milk eye cream and Cyto Cell Dark Circle corrector eye cream to brighten my tired eyes.
After my skin consultation, I wandered around and had the opportunity to trial some of the products I’d been lusting after at the communal beauty play station which was complete with beauty tools and makeup removers and cleansers to help you try an array of product. I’d been lusting after a new foundation so took the chance to test out foundations from Urban Decay, NARS and Hourglass.
The wonderful thing about the treatment is that I really felt a difference in the look and feel of my skin. The knowledge that Tania imparted as we progressed through the treatment was invaluable and I’m grateful that I know what products I can add to my skincare regime to ward off those lines.
With over 80 of the world’s most wanted Beauty brands and an array of cult products found only at Mecca, it’s definitely worth paying a visit and spending some quality time finding something that suits you and your beauty needs.
